Ambassador Lay Samkol is leading a Cambodian delegation to attend the 33rd Assembly Session of the International Maritime Organization in London from 27 November to 6 December 2023, during which delegates from 175 Member States will deliberate over key maritime-related issues and elect its respective councils’ members. This 2023 biennial assembly meeting will see the departure of its current Secretary General as well as appointment of the new one for the next initial 4-year term. This is an important multilateralism mechanism in which Cambodia can benefit a lot from as well as lend its support to other member states.
