On 18 December 2023, Ambassador Lay Samkol paid a courtesy call on Ms. Heather Wheeler, the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Cambodia and Member of Parliament at the House of Commons. Both sides expressed deep satisfaction with the growing stronger bilateral relations and cooperation on many areas of common interest over the recent years. They also discussed extensively on ways and means to make full use of potentials and preferences under the UK Developing Country Trading Scheme (DCTS) and to further deepen cooperation in trade and investment, education, agriculture, tourism, culture, and especially demining as Cambodia is fully committed to achieving its mine-free target by 2025.
